Common questions

How do I draw a route?

Touch your thief and drag through the loot to the exit, then lift your finger. Start from the thief again to redraw, or from the end of the line to carry on. Undo steps back one stroke and the bin clears every route. Smart drawing, which slides the line along walls, can be switched off under Settings, Drawing.

The world does not move while I draw

That is on purpose. Planning has no clock. Everyone moves at once only after you press GO, so a longer route arrives later and a guard may have walked past. Tap a guard to see its patrol timeline.

I am stuck on a case

The HINT button gives an observation first, then a strategy, then the start of a route. The first tier is free. Later tiers can play an optional video. After a failed run, ANALYZE tells you whether a small timing change would have saved it. The Field Guide on the title screen explains every mechanic you have met, and the HINT sheet can reopen the card for the case you are on.

Why are the Daily Heist and the Heist Run locked?

The Daily Heist opens after 6 cleared cases and the Heist Run after 10, so they arrive after you know the rules. The Daily Heist is one new case a day, the same for everyone, with a streak. The Heist Run is case after case with three lives: a failed attempt costs one and a perfect run gives one back.

How do I remove the ads?

Settings, Ads, Remove ads is a single one-time purchase. It ends the full-screen ads for good and the hints, ANALYZE and a Heist Run's extra life then come without a video. If you bought it before, or on another device, tap Restore purchases in the same place. It uses the Apple Account you are signed in with, so it has to be the one that bought it.

Remove ads says Unavailable

The button needs a connection to the App Store and a signed-in Apple Account. Check both, close the game completely and open it again. If the price still does not appear, write to me with your iOS version.

How do I change my ad consent choices?

Where the law requires a consent form (the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), Settings, Ads, Privacy choices reopens it. Your answer takes effect on the next ad. The row Tracking in the same place opens the iOS setting for the advertising identifier. If Privacy choices is missing, no consent form applies in your region.

I see no ads, or no video before a hint

New ad units and some regions have no ads to show for a while. When a video is not available the game gives you the hint or ANALYZE without one, so nothing is locked behind it.

Did I lose my progress?

Saves are written to a temporary file first and the previous copy is kept, so an interrupted write falls back rather than losing the file. Progress lives on the device only: it does not sync between iPhones, and deleting the app deletes it, unless it is in an iCloud or iTunes backup of the device. If a save ever comes back empty, write to me before reinstalling.

How do I start again from the first case?

Settings, Progress, Reset progress. Tap once to ask and a second time to confirm. It clears cases, stars, streaks, Heist Run records and the Field Guide and deletes the save file. Settings, Workshop heists and Remove ads stay.

Does it make my iPhone warm?

The game draws at 60 frames a second during a case and lets the screen rest on menus. A phone that is charging, in the sun or in a case can still warm up under any game. If yours gets hot, write to me with the model and what you were playing, and set Settings, Accessibility, Reduced motion to see whether it helps.

Can I play on iPad or in landscape?

INKHEIST is built for iPhone and portrait only. It installs on an iPad and runs in the iPhone compatibility window, but that is not the size it was designed for.
