Product concept illustration
The idea
Application and destination rules.
Netzwand is being built to make outbound network connections visible and controllable. See which application is connecting, inspect its destination, and decide what it may reach.
The mechanism
Rules close to the connection.
A macOS Network Extension evaluates connections against application and destination rules. A SwiftUI interface exposes activity and the decisions behind it. The filtering engine is separate from the interface.
Privacy
No account. No TLS interception.
The product is designed around local control, without telemetry, a cloud account or decrypting TLS traffic. It is an outbound firewall, not an antivirus or a promise that a Mac is secure.
Status
Release verification is still open.
The 17 September 2026 release audit lists outstanding bugs and real-hardware verification. There is no public download here until those release conditions are met.
