Write to info@tiborczekay.com or use the contact form. It helps if you include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and a short description of what happened. I usually reply within a few days.
Common questions
Where is the viewfinder?
There isn't one, and that is the design. Varifokal shows you the camera deck, not the scene. You frame by pointing the phone, press the red release, and look at the result in Photos afterwards. The lens is scale-focused past its hyperfocal distance, so roughly 1.2 m to infinity is sharp without you aiming at anything.
The shutter will not fire
The film has not been wound on. After every exposure the lever to the left of the release turns amber and the shutter stays locked until you tap or drag it. If the counter reads 24 of 24, the roll is finished: wind the lever to rewind it, and a fresh roll loads.
Nothing appeared in Photos
Developing takes a moment per frame and happens on the phone, so give it a few seconds. If frames never arrive, check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos and confirm that Varifokal is allowed to add photos. The app asks for add-only access the first time it saves a frame; if that was declined, there is nowhere for the finished JPEG to go.
It says CAMERA NOT FOUND
Varifokal needs a physical iPhone with a rear camera. On the Simulator there is no camera to expose a frame with. On a real device, check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and confirm that Varifokal is allowed.
My photos look too dark, or too warm
Each stock is a full photochemical model, not a filter, so exposure behaves the way film does: highlights roll off, shadows stay dense, and colour drifts with exposure. If frames are consistently off, the dials may be set manually. Turn ISO and shutter back to A and let the meter work, or use the exposure compensation dial to bias it a stop either way.
Can I change the picture after the fact?
No. There are no edit controls, no filter menu and no way to re-develop a frame. What Photos receives is the finished exposure. Both stocks are chosen before you shoot, not after.
Why is my ezPan frame landscape when I shot it upright?
ezPan uses the 65 x 24 XPan gate, which is a landscape format by definition. It always exports landscape however you were holding the phone.
Are my photos geotagged?
Only if you ask for it. Geotagging is off by default. Turning on Settings → Location → Geotag finished JPEGs writes your location into the JPEG the app saves, and nowhere else.
