  • unrichtige Daten berichtigen lassen (Art. 16 DSGVO),

Summary

Parfokal is an open gate video camera app for iPhone. Your recordings and settings stay on your device. There is no user account, no server, no advertising and no analytics or tracking.

Camera, microphone and motion

Parfokal needs the camera and the microphone to record. The app writes picture and sound directly to your device; they are not transmitted. For stabilisation the app reads the iPhone's motion sensors. These values stay on the device.

Phone calls

Through the iOS CallKit interface, Parfokal notices when a phone call starts or ends so that the app can react to a call during a recording. The app receives no phone numbers, contacts or call content.

Location

Location tagging is off by default. If you turn it on, iOS asks for location access and Parfokal writes the location into the metadata of your recordings, as Apple's Camera app does. This happens on the device; the location is not sent to me. You can turn tagging off in the app or revoke access in the iOS Settings app.

Recordings, LUTs and Photos

Your recordings and imported LUT files are kept in the app's storage area and are visible in the Files app. An imported .cube LUT is read on the device, whether it is used for monitoring only or baked into the recording.

If you choose Photos as the save destination, Parfokal adds finished clips to your photo library in an album called "Parfokal". For this, iOS asks for access to your photos. The app uses this access only to find or create the album and add clips; it does not read other photos.

Internet connection

Recording and saving work without an internet connection. A connection is made only if you tap a link to my website; it opens in your browser.

App Store

You download the app from Apple's App Store. Apple processes data about the download, purchases and your Apple Account under its own responsibility; the Apple Privacy Policy applies. I never receive payment details. Apple gives me only aggregated sales and download figures that do not identify anyone.

If you have turned on "Share With App Developers" under Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements on your device, Apple also gives me crash reports and usage statistics for the app. Apple passes them on only in a form that does not identify you, and I use them only to find bugs. You can turn the option off there at any time.

Backups

Your device may include the app's data in an iCloud backup or in a backup on your computer. Your device settings decide whether and where that happens; iCloud backups are covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. I have no access to such backups.

Children

Parfokal is rated 4+ and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Deleting data

You can delete recordings and LUTs at any time. Removing the app deletes its own data. Clips in your photo library stay there until you delete them yourself.

Your rights

I receive no personal data from the app. You manage the data on your device yourself.

Where I process personal data about you, you may, subject to the statutory conditions,

  • request access to that data (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • request erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), and
  • receive your data in a common, machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR).

An informal message to info@tiborczekay.com or through the contact form is enough.

Right to object

Where I process data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interests), you may object to that processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). I will then stop processing the data unless I can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Complaint to a supervisory authority

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).

Automated decisions

There is no automated individual decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

If the app changes in a way that makes this policy inaccurate, I will update it. The current version is always at tiborczekay.com/parfokal/privacy; the date at the top shows when it was last changed.
